Make your dog famous

The vast majority of cartoons on this site will be inspired by the real antics of real dogs. (We are fed up with fake antics, but more on that another time.)

We want to know about crazy things your dog has done. Inspire Jim! (He is the creator of Draw the Dog.) If you do, we will name your dog on top of the cartoon.

Or, if you like, you can also send us a photo of your dog and just tell us a bit about his or her personality.

By submitting your story, you give us permission to use or adapt your stuff. You also acknowledge that we get a lot of crazy dog stories, and we might use one that is similar to yours without crediting you. (If so, try again!)

Please be sure to tell us the name of your dog and where you live. Mention your favorite dog rescue, and if you inspire a cartoon we'll tell the world about them, too.

If you need to talk with a real, live person... hmm, that is a tough one... okay, call Bruce Kasanoff at (203) 341-9448. He is generally somewhere between Boston and New York, so try to call during the day, okay?

If you want to send us a photo, email it to: photos (at) drawthedog.com.

(You can also use this form to request a gift item, make a suggestion, or just say hi.)

What a great site! There can never be too many dog cartoons! I’ll have to think of a few stories to inspire a cartoon or two. I look forward to seeing the daily cartoon.

You need some Dachshund cartoons… after all, they’re pretty funny without even doing anything. (Now that could only be said by a Dachsie-person!) We Dachsie people tend to be a tad obsessive-compulsive about our breed… get the right cartoon, and you’ll sell a million T-shirts and mugs! I’ll try to get you some good stories…

‘absolutely love this cartoon! … what a GREYT way to promote animal rescue … I’d love to print this one out and use it at our greyound meet n’ greets … even if folks don’t rescue a greyhound at least they might think about getting a dog from a rescue group … thx for your wonderful work … it’s so enjoyed!

Dog Heaven Was a happy tear jerker. I have had 4 dogs and they all passed on. Now I have Vito. It was such a happy way to feel our beloved and faithful babies /that I call them, are all together and having the time of their life. Thanks again.

No Akita cartoons yet!! I keep looking through Sabre’s dogster blog entries for some funny stories. I have some dates written to copy and paste but not sure if I should send them all at once or spread it out. Would love to see an Akita even if it’s not based on my dog!! Any other Akita owners have a story to share?? I’ll keep trying!

I liked your drawing of the greyhound. As the fortunate owner of three ex-racing greyhounds and one whippet I apriciate the drawing of them. Thanks it was a lot of fun I submitted the story of my hands on rescue Tristan yesterday. Would like to know your thoughts about it. Most sincerly Lisbeth and the lads.

Why no brittanys? I have one and she is just too funny! This one time I left her home with my inlaws brittany for about 30 minuets and they act as if they were going to sleep on the couch while I was gone. When I got home they had shredded their dog pillows and I cought little miss aspen inside the cover of her pillow with cotton hanging from her mouth. I was laughing so hard I couldnt be mad at them.
Ive also just added a 8 week old kitten to our home and my brittany is scared to death of her. The kitten will walk up to her and try and play and Bella will yip and run, she has to keep and 10 foot distance from her at all times. If she even sees the kitten looking at her she will get up and leave the room. She is starting to get use to her being around the house but still doesnt like her by her. Its pretty funny to see this tiny little kitten scaring the hell out of a 37 pound dog. My Lab thinks she is his play toy and rolls her down the hall way licking her to death. My inlaws say we a have a cat and dog show at our house.
