Too funny! Leave it to the dog to bring excitement to ‘break the monotony’ of mellow relaxation.

Karissa December 3, 2009 at 12:22 pm

Hahaha our mini doxi (poptart, kids named her) does this all the time if you dont close the curtin. our 4 year old twins love it when she jumps in with them! You cant keep her out of the water, dosnt matter its a bath, pool or a big bowl! Our great dane (thor) on the other hand hates water and my 185lb marine husband has to pick him up, not an easy task, while i stand in the tub pulling his paws off the sids of the shower so he will get in for a bath!

Oh, boy! I wished my dogs were that excited about having a bath! I have to bribe then with chicken to attract them to the bathroom!
:-)

Hmmm, let me guess. Katie actually LIKES baths???

Too funny!

Rosanne December 3, 2009 at 1:42 pm

Yep, I haven’t had a relaxing bath (alone) since Cora joined the household!

Joan Willner December 3, 2009 at 1:44 pm

This is hysterical! This must have been the highlight of your day! She wants to be close to you even if she has to get wet! You know where the love is! Enjoy her! J

Thank goodness. I don’t have water dogs. I did have a cat who use to perch on the side of the tub when I was soaking…. until the day, she slipped in. Of course, I was laughing at the event and she had hurt her dignity in a major way. LOL

I take showers instead of baths, and my Golden Doodle Ducky is black–but this IS my life! Too funny!

Nancy Troyer December 3, 2009 at 2:45 pm

My Vizsla puppy did this to me. Actually, getting into the tub he was fine. It was when he started trying to dig to China through the water that I gave up trying to relax and read my (now soaking) book…

Dani December 3, 2009 at 4:31 pm

My Jack Russell Zoey does this if I do not make sure the door is actually latched (sometimes it doesn’t catch). Honestly, the jumping in the bath I can handle because I see her coming, but she has mastered the sneaking into the shower without you noticing the curtain moving. I admit it gives me a start when I am washing my hair and suddenly I feel something running up my leg as she licks me!

GOOD ONE! Looks like my dogs. The funny thing is they only want to get in the bathtub when I am in there!

I have just discovered your website. FANTASTIC!

I have a doodle, and she is capable of this AND MUCH MORE–although it’s my black lab that wants in the tub with me. He took baths with me until he got too big and now he whimpers throughout my bath until I let him in (I get out, he gets in.) He loves the warm water–it’s like he’s back in the womb. I don’t even wash him! I just dry him when he gets out.

Katie is sooo cute, I loved the pics of her. I am glad you bought her from me, she looks very happy there. Enjoy happy many years with her. You take care.

Great cartoon!

My beloved lated Beagle, Bobby just loved to visit the tub…and Norman the Cat does too.
Regarding pets, I enjoy their antics and let them do what they please (if it is safe for them).

Christine Orantes May 22, 2010 at 4:26 pm

Priceless…Just made me laugh out loud.
Looks like a wonderful way to relax with Katie!
Loved the cartoon… Thanks so much for all you do with your simple but brillant cartoons!

LOVE IT!

Toni May 22, 2010 at 10:01 pm

Thanks for running this again. She still wants in the tub with me but I have put a stop to it since she has gotten so big. (50lbs) She was just a pup when this happened. She is a fun and makes me laugh every day. What a joy!!!!

Debi May 22, 2010 at 10:26 pm

I have a dog who always wants in the bathtub with me. I have long since given up the glass of wine and book in the bath. I have to take showers now.

Lee May 22, 2010 at 10:46 pm

When I ask my Mini Aussie to get in the tub he jumps in happily. When he finds out that he is going to get wet, he is not so happy! But the next time I ask him to get in the tub, he is just as quick. What a wonderful, obedient boy he is!

Jenny May 23, 2010 at 1:08 am

This is what my Chihuahua, Javier, does …. but he pounces when I’m all comfy in my recliner with a full mug of hot coffee! He wouldn’t go near water even if I floated a well-done steak in it and told him it was all his.

Dogs are in our lives to make them more funny and less boring, aren’t they?! Funny history, beautiful cartoon! Adriana, from Brazil!

I wish my dog did this for me when she needs a bath. I have to pick her up and set her in the bath and then deal with her trying to get out and deal with her sharp claws. Although it is peretty easy to keep her in (Camy my dog is a mini schnauzer).

Marise May 24, 2010 at 2:53 pm

My inside dog hates to take a bath. She adores the rain but if she sees water in the tub she runs away immediately!

Richard May 24, 2010 at 4:48 pm

or maybe . . . a good friend?
