Yesterday, apparently our website widgetizer conflicted with the thingamajig, which caused the cartoon our subscribers normally receive each day to be re-routed to a small cabin 90 miles southeast of Milwaukee. It’s most likely a by-product of both “Lost” and “24″ leaving TV during the same week, but we could be wrong about that. We apologize for any inconvenience, especially to devoted parakeet owner, Sven van Hefereffer, who received 8,931 emails about a dog and cat.

PERFECT!!!! Are you sure that isn’t Amirah? She can FLY onto countertops and beds but, is scared to step over the baby gate (lucky for me). Great job, as usual.
)
OH MY GOODNESS! Nice picture to go with the cartoon — it helps to explain so much! Thanks, everyone!
Love the side picture! Just a tad large to be on the counter!
OMG, I too have a Great Dane that can jump onto tables from a standing position. So far I have not found any of our Danes on the counter — they are tall enough to counter surf while standing on the floor.
LOVE that you included the picture that inspired the cartoon!!!!!!
OMG I laughed so hard but not to the cartoon but due to the picture which shows that this was actually a real event. So funny and my goodness is that a large dog to be on the counters. I would have freaked out the first time I walked around the corner and saw that. Too funny. Great job capturing the moment in the cartoon.
Hilarious–sort of! Darn those long legs!!
I think the description of the website malfunction was even funnier than the cartoon!
LOVE IT!!! Perfect.
love the explaination but if you’d like my theory a ufo intercepted the emails accidently and since they only had the one email addy in their system they just forwarded them to that addy. love the pic seems our 4 footed kids do lots of strange things however if we’d do what they say we would do for a klondike bar why wouldn’t they go to great lengths for a chicken? makes perfectly good sense to me. ya’all are great this page makes my day if i read no other email i always read this one.
Now that is a professional counter surfer!
Very pretty doggy and I can just see him saying that.
Thanks – it is perfect.
Unbelievable! And yet? I believe it—and am still laughing! What I love is the dog’s expression in the photo—so completely guiltless, so completely matter of fact—which you captured perfectly in the cartoon. It’s sort of like Willie Sutton being asked why he robbed banks. The famous reply? “That’s where the money is.” Why is Trudeau’s on the counter? ‘Cause that’s where the chicken is. Duh.
Oh, my gosh! I love this one! (Well, I love all of them…but some, like this one, just knock me out!)
Thanks…and thanks for the picture of the real deal too! Hilarious!
I know Trudeau, his people and the other Danes in the pack and he has no guilt, the chicken is HIS, the house is HIS, the people are HIS and all is good in the world. I love that boy!!
Loomis is “right down the street” (35 miles) from me…I’d pay money to see Trudeau counter surf! LOL! This was hysterical!
OMG! Too cute!
What a gorgeous Great Dane! I’m amazed he would jump on a counter he could easily surf from the floor. My greyhounds have never jumped on the counter to do their surfing although they could easily do it if they weren’t afraid of slipping. Trudeax must be brave as well as athletic! Great cartoon and love seeing the actual photo with it!
Wow, beautiful dog. He doesn’t look like he has to be on the counter to reach the food!!
I agree with Carole, you guys are such a hoot!
Why can’t we see the photo?
Would love to be on your email list.
So funny! I can totally relate to this cartoon! lol
